The Opportunity

Oreo is an icon of the cookie world. Xbox is an icon of the gaming world. We were given the opportunity to bring the two icons together to Unlock Playfulness – positioning Oreo as the ultimate gaming snack. The heroes of this iconic collaboration were the bespoke cookie embossments, inspired by the Xbox controller icons.

Cheat Cookies

The cookies were at the heart of the Cheat Cookies campaign (from our friends at Saatchi & Saatchi!) Using the cookies, players could create sequences from the cookies, and scan them, to unlock unique cheat codes and prizes. The cookies were also a springboard to make our packaging feel like this year’s must-have gamer’s accessory, with the world around it inspired by the visual language of gaming interfaces. Six bespoke cookie embossments, six packs, six countries, multiple billboards, eighty thousand consumers engaged, and one meme of the Pope holding an Xbox cookie – and we can safely say that this limited edition took Europe by storm.
